John Ogden  was born in 1792 in New York, and died on 3 March 1864 in Ross County, Ohio. He was buried in the Schooley Cemetery, Liberty Township, Ross County, Ohio. He enlisted at Ithaca, and served in Capt. Tums Serick’s Co. of riflemen, Lt. Col. H. W. Doblin NY Volunteers.

John married Hannah Reed on 19 November 1837 in Jackson County, Ohio; Hannah was born c. 1807 in Athens County, Ohio (now Jackson County). Their children include:

 

Anna Jane Ogden, born 21 Mar 1839 Jackson County, Ohio; died 17 November 1920 Pickaway County, Ohio. Married James Vest on 15 March 1855 Ross County, Ohio. James was born in 1830 in VA and died in 1920 Ross County, Ohio.

Susannah Ogden, born 1843 Jackson County, Ohio, married Nelson Moats on 24 December 1862 in Ross County, Ohio.

Mary Ogden born 20 September 1846 Jackson County, Ohio, died 6 May 1923 Ross County, Ohio. Married Wilson Stevens on 7 January 1866 Ross County, Ohio. Wilson was born 15 June 1844, died 10 October 1921 Ross County, Ohio.
